What is Young Life?
Young Life is a world-class organization for adolescents. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids and focus on what matters to them. In doing so we earn the privilege of talking with them about what we believe matters most of all - the truth about God and His love for each of us.
All of our ministries have weekly or monthly large group meetings called club and small group Bible studies. We offer weekend and summer camping trips as well. But the real work of Young Life is the mentoring friendships built between our leaders and kids.
Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with an adult who is concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don't happen overnight - they take time, patience, trust, and consistency. We believe in the power of presence. Kids are dramatically influenced when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love with them. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning, and purpose. We believe in loving kids regardless of their response.

Dan has been on staff with Young Life for over 20 years and first moved to Kane County in 2007. Currently he is the team leader for our Capernaum ministry and also leads with WyldLife. He loves the ministry of Young Life because of the way it communicates the full life God intends for each of us. He lives in Geneva with his wife Beth and their two children, Jackson and Payton. Dan loves Jesus, his family, and the Chicago Bears.

JoJo has been on full-time staff here since she graduated from Wheaton College in 2019 with a degree in Youth Ministry. Before that she spent two years on part-time staff with Young Life Kane County and two years as a volunteer leader. She is passionate about sharing the love of Christ with teenagers. JoJo runs our high school ministry in St. Charles.
Beth Griebel

Beth grew up in Arizona and first came on Young Life staff in 2000. After a brief hiatus she has now been back on part-time staff as our WyldLife (middle school) director since 2015. Beth has a heart for middle schoolers because of the special tender time of life it is for students. She and Dan moved to Mill Creek in 2017 after ten years in St. Charles. She has the same two kids as Dan, Jackson and Payton.

Blake grew up near Atlanta Georgia and moved to Wheaton Illinois for college in 2018. He has been involved with Young Life here in Kane County for four years as a volunteer leader. Blake is passionate about Jesus, the outdoors, and connecting with people. He loves conversations and making others feel welcome. Blake will be running Geneva Young Life and will oversee the Batavia Young Life leaders.
